– Russian biathletes Olga Vilukhina, Yana Romanova, and Olga Zaytseva have had their life bans overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Vilukhina was stripped of the silver she won in the 7.5-kilometer sprint at the 2014 Sochi Olympics after being implicated in the Russian doping scandal, while Romanova and Zaytseva were stripped of their silver and bronze medals from the 4×6 kilometer relay biathlon and their results were annulled, Reuters reports. In Zaytseva’s case, the CAS ruled that she had committed a doping violation but her ban should only be applied for the next edition of the Olympics—the 2018 Pyeongchang Games—instead of a life ban from all future Olympic Games.
