⁍ London’s High Court approves a fast-track appeal against some of the world’s biggest insurers.

⁍ The decision spells further delays for struggling businesses battered by the coronavirus pandemic.

– Britain’s High Court has ruled in favor of the country’s markets regulator in a landmark case that could force some of the world’s biggest insurers to hand over billions of dollars in disputed claims, reports Reuters. The regulator, the Financial Services Authority, is trying to force the insurers—including Allianz and Swiss Re—to hand over money to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses that were hit hard by the H1N1 virus. The ruling means that the case will move straight to the Supreme Court, where it is expected to be decided by the end of the year.
