⁍ U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said legislation to help airline companies survive the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic was a matter of national security.

⁍ Pelosi said there was ‘a clear understanding’ that airlines aid had ‘to be in the context of a fuller bill’
The Democratic speaker particularly wants to dispatch hundreds of billions of dollars to state and local governments.

– “Now they are starting to work out,” President Trump said Thursday in a telephone interview with Fox Business about negotiations on an airline aid bill. He’s referring to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who are trying to hammer out a bipartisan bill to help struggling airlines amid the Pandemic coronavirus. “We’re at the table. We want to continue the conversation. We’ve made some progress, exchanging language, and then, so we’ll see how we connect,” Pelosi told reporters, per Reuters. “There is no standalone bill without a bigger bill,” she said, adding there was “a clear understanding” that any airline aid would have “to be in the context of a fuller bill.” Pelosi and Mnuchin are scheduled to meet again on Thursday.
