⁍ Australian shares are poised to open higher on Wednesday, tracking growing optimism on Wall Street.
⁍ The local share price index futures inched 0.2%, or 10 points, higher, at 2124 GMT.
– Asian markets recouped some of their losses in early trading today, helped by Wall Street’s rebound on hopes that Congress will pass an economic stimulus bill soon. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index was up 1.1% and South Korea’s Kospi Index was up 0.8%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index was up 0.2% and New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index rose 0.3% in early trade, according to Reuters.
