– Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific says it will cut about 8,500 jobs, or about 5% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring plan. The airline, which has been struggling since it was taken over by Singapore’s Dragon Airlines in 2015, says the job cuts are part of a plan to cut costs and boost its profitability, the South China Morning Post reports.
