– Democrats need to pick up three seats in the Senate to have a 51-49 majority come Election Day, and a new Reuters/Ipsos poll suggests they’re on track. The poll, which surveyed 686 likely voters in Michigan, North Carolina, and Arizona, shows Democrat Cal Cunningham with a 47% to 47% lead over Republican Thom Tillis in North Carolina. In Michigan, Republican challenger John James now trails Democratic incumbent Gary Peters by 50% to 45%. Republican Martha McSally, meanwhile, leads Democrat Mark Kelly 52% to 41% in Arizona, according to the poll. In North Carolina, Tillis had 47% to Cunningham’s 47% in last week’s poll, while McSally had 41% to 44% in an earlier poll. Democrats need to pick up three seats to have a majority, and four if not.
