Joshua Garnett was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round and spent his first three years in the league as a guard, ESPN reports. He appeared in 25 games, 11 of them starts, with the team. The 26-year-old retired Tuesday. He was signed by the Washington Redskins over the summer and was on the team’s practice squad for the past three games. He played the bulk of his snaps on special teams for Washington.
