⁍ China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd reported a 9.9% rise in nine-month revenue on Friday.

⁍ U.S. export restrictions and the global COVID-19 pandemic weakened sales growth in products such as smartphones and telecoms equipment.

– One of the world’s biggest makers of telecom equipment says its revenue rose 9.9% in the first nine months of the year, Reuters reports. But that’s mostly because of new US export restrictions and a flu pandemic that has wiped out millions of people around the world. According to the Wall Street Journal, China’s second-largest telecom equipment maker, Huawei, saw its revenue rise to $104 billion in the first nine months of the year from $92 billion in the same period a year earlier. But that’s down from a peak of $162 billion in the second quarter of this year. The company says the flu pandemic and the export restrictions it’s facing are hurting sales of its smartphones, which make up most of the company’s revenue. The company also says it’s in talks to sell parts of its smartphones to other companies.
