⁍ Two people attempted to steal a 964-series Porsche 911 Carrera 2 in Benicassim, Spain.
⁍ But unbeknownst to them, the sports car was parked beside a Tesla Model 3 that caught everything on tape.
⁍ Jose Saez-Merino, who owns the Model 3 that caught the scene, shared the video on social media in an attempt to recover the car.
⁍ Less than a day after Saez-Merino shared the video on Twitter, the 911 was found in a suburban area near Valencia.
– When Jose Saez-Merino noticed his Tesla Model 3 parked next to a Porsche 911 Carrera 2 in the Spanish town of Benicassim on Sunday night, he decided to act. Saez-Merino, who happens to be a relative of the car’s owner, posted a video to social media showing two people in masks rolling the car out of the parking spot and into the night, Business Insider reports. Saez-Merino shared the video with police, who were able to recover the car less than a day later. It’s not clear how much of a role Tesla’s Sentry Mode—which keeps a car’s exterior cameras on standby while its owner is away—played in the recovery, but Saez-Merino tells Business Insider that it may help police catch the people who stole the car.
