– During the current coronavirus pandemic, Bill Gates and Dr. Anthony Fauci have been among the most-discussed people on social media, with Gates being accused of wanting a vaccine so he could use it to implant microchips in people. On Wednesday, Gates shot down the conspiracy theory, which he called “so stupid or strange,” CBS News reports. “There’s no connection between any of these vaccines and any tracking type thing at all,” he said. “I don’t know where that came from.” According to YouGov and Yahoo News, 44% of Republicans, 19% of Democrats, and 24% of independents believe Gates wants to use mass vaccination to implant microchips in people. Gates said some people still get “the idea that we get accused of creating chips or the virus,” but his foundation is “about reducing death and bringing equity to health.”
