– An attack on a prison in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Sunday left at least three people dead and more than 50 prisoners escaped, officials say. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, which came on the third and final day of a ceasefire between the Afghan government and the Taliban, Reuters reports. According to the AP, hundreds of Taliban prisoners were released in an attempt to jump-start peace talks between the group and the Afghan government. The Taliban says it has freed all 1,000 Afghan prisoners it had pledged to release in a deal with the US.
