⁍ New clashes broke out after the opposition accused President Alexander Lukashenko of rigging his re-election victory.


– At least one person was killed and dozens more injured as anti-government protesters clashed with police in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Sunday, the New York Times reports. According to Reuters, protesters threw rocks and fireworks at police, who fired back with tear gas and rubber bullets. One protester was hit in the head by a rubber bullet, and another was killed by an explosive device while trying to throw it at police. Protesters accuse President Alexander Lukashenko, who has ruled the country since 2000 with an iron fist, of fraud following his re-election victory last month.
