– The Czech Republic is facing what Reuters calls “one of Europe’s biggest surges in infections” from a virus known as coronavirus. The country has seen 10,273 new cases of the virus since the middle of October, and the daily number has averaged more than 12,000 over the past week. The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control says the country has seen Europe’s fastest infection rates over the past two weeks, with 1,324 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The number of cases has doubled in the past two weeks, and the government is set to impose a 9pm curfew on Wednesday and limit retail hours, Reuters reports.
