⁍ Wisconsin broke one-day state records in both cases and deaths on Tuesday.
– “There’s no way to sugarcoat it—we are facing an urgent crisis and there is an imminent risk to you, your family members, your friends, your neighbors, and the people you care about,” Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said at a news conference Tuesday, warning people to stay home as the state grapples with a record number of cases of coronavirus. Two people have now died in the state, breaking a single-day state record, and officials are asking people to stay home when possible, wear masks, and avoid social gatherings with more than five people, Reuters reports. “There is an imminent risk to you, your family members, your friends, your neighbors, and the people you care about,” Evers said. “Stay home, Wisconsin.” The campaign of Mike Pence, who was scheduled to campaign in the state Wednesday, says it is taking all necessary precautions, including handing out masks and taking temperature checks of people entering the event in Mosinee, CNN reports.
