⁍ Emilio Lozoya faces a raft of accusations ranging from accepting bribes to money laundering.


⁍ He was chief executive of Pemex from 2012 to 2016 under Mexico’s former president, Enrique Pena Nieto.


– Former Petroleos Mexicanos CEO Emilio Lozoya has been charged with multiple counts of corruption, money laundering, and fraud dating back to his time as CEO of the state-owned oil firm from 2012 to 2016, Reuters reports. According to the AP, Lozoya is accused of taking more than $100 million in kickbacks in return for boosting the company’s exploration and production capacity. He was also accused of running a money-laundering operation out of his home. Lozoya has denied the charges against him.
