⁍ Hospitals reported a rise in the number of people in intensive care for the first time in 16 weeks.


⁍ There were 16 new deaths from the disease, taking the total to 30,254.


– For the first time in 16 weeks, France is reporting an increase in the number of people in intensive care for coronavirus, the disease that causes vomiting and fever and has killed at least 30 people in the country, Reuters reports. “The virus circulation is sustained with new daily cases increasing by more than 1,000,” health authorities said in a statement. “Swift and sweeping efforts are necessary.” The number of cases in France rose by 1,377, bringing the country’s total to 186,573 cases, according to the BBC. That’s above the 1,000 mark for the first time since early May.
