– On Thursday, President Trump floated the idea of delaying the 2020 election, saying he was concerned about what he saw as a potential problem with mail-in ballots. On Sunday, the White House and the president’s campaign pushed back against the idea. “We’re going to hold an election on November 3 and the president is going to win,” White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said on CBS’ Face the Nation, per Reuters. Presidential campaign adviser Jason Miller echoed the sentiment on Fox News Sunday, saying, “The election is going to be on November 3rd and President Trump wants the election to be on November 3rd.” Trump on Sunday called for a lawsuit to be filed against Nevada’s efforts to extend mail-in balloting during emergencies, tweeting, “This is outrageous. Must be met with immediate litigation!” The AP reports that Trump’s comments were his first public comments on the issue.
