– Between June 8 and July 5, Donald Trump made 200 false claims about a variety of subjects, according to the Washington Post’s Fact Checker blog. Forty-one of those claims were about the coronavirus, which he’s now made 67 times, more than any other pandemic-related false claim. He made 15 false claims about the relationship between testing and cases, claiming that testing is responsible for the recent spike in confirmed cases, that testing is causing cases to exist, or something similar. Trump also falsely claimed six times that he was responsible for sending in the National Guard to quell riots in Minnesota; the Guard was activated by the state’s Democratic governor. Trump also promoted wild conspiracy theories about a 75-year-old protester who was shoved to the ground by Buffalo police. He made 24 false claims about Joe Biden, including four times that the former vice president hasn’t left his basement. He also made 22 false claims in a “town hall” event with Fox News host Sean Hannity, which was more like a conversation between Trump and Hannity with occasional softball audience questions thrown in. Trump is now up to 2,783 total false claims since July 8, 2019, when the Fact Checker blog started counting.
