– For the first time, Latin America has surpassed the US and Canada when it comes to the total number of cases of the common cold-like illness known as coronavirus, Reuters reports. According to a Reuters tally based on data from the governments of each country, Latin America now has 4,327,160 cases compared to 4,308,495 cases in the US and Canada. The United States still leads the way with more than 4.2 million cases and 146,000 deaths, while Brazil comes in second with 2.4 million cases and 87,000 deaths.
